Modeste operates! BVB fans totally surprised
Maybe things will go better in the new year…
Dortmund striker Anthony Modeste (34) underwent groin surgery. The Frenchman has had complaints for several weeks.
Modeste posted a photo of herself in the hospital on Instagram on Thursday, showing both thumbs up. The Frenchman writes: “Bonjour, the first half of the season is done. Now it’s time for the World Cup and winter break, which I unfortunately started with an operation. I will soon be going straight to rehab so that I can be fit and full of energy on the pitch again in the new year.”
This surgery came as a surprise to BVB fans – it was not announced!

As BVB announced, the procedure carried out on Wednesday evening was a groin operation.
The training camp starts on January 2nd! The Frenchman wants to be there again. But it won’t be enough for Borussia’s Asia tour. From November 21st to December 1st, BVB is on a PR trip and has friendlies in Singapore, Indonesia and Vietnam.

The season has not gone well for Modeste so far. In the summer he came from Cologne as a replacement for Sebastian Haller (28), who was unpredictably absent due to testicular cancer. In his 13 Bundesliga games for BVB he only scored two goals.
