Buy NFT with Confidence on Flare, a Different Blockchain!

Flare, tier 1 for data, has completed the live demonstration of new interoperability functionality on the network currently in beta. An NFT was securely purchased using two key interoperability protocols, State Connector and Flare Time Series Oracle (FTSO), with the transaction occurring on a different chain using a different token.

The demo was run on Songbird, Flare’s canary network, with the purchase made using DOGE and XRP tokens.

Flare’s State Connector protocols enable secure, scalable and reliable use of information from both other blockchains and the internet with EVM-based smart contracts on Flare chains. In this case, it was used to prove that a transaction was confirmed on a non-flare chain and simultaneously verify that the correct payment reference was included.

Flare Time Series Oracle provides highly decentralized pricing and data streams to data applications on Flare without relying on a central provider to bring data on-chain.

Since Flare is an EVM-based blockchain, anything that can be achieved on Ethereum and other EVM chains can also be accomplished on Flare. Therefore, the NFTs printed in the demo are standard ERC721 contracts written in Solidity and distributed over the network. The only change needed was the addition of methods to integrate with the FTSO and the State Connector.

“This demo highlights Flare’s ability to provide more types of secure, decentralized data on-chain to power new functionality and potential use cases for the industry,” said Hugo Philion, Flare CEO and Co-Founder. The NFT demo is an example of the web3 utility that Flare can unlock for legacy tokens, allowing them to be used safely in dapps on the network. We are excited to see what other application engineers can develop by leveraging the capabilities of Flare’s native interoperability protocols.”

About Flare

Flare is an EVM-based Layer 1 blockchain that provides developers with decentralized access to high integrity data from other chains and the internet. This allows applications to serve multiple chains through a single distribution, while enabling new use cases and monetization models.

Flare’s State Connector protocols enable secure, scalable and reliable use of information from both other blockchains and the internet with smart contracts on Flare.

Flare Time Series Oracle offers highly decentralized pricing and data flows to data applications on Flare without relying on centralized providers.

Build on Flare with more data than ever before, or build with Flare to serve multiple ecosystems.
