Frankfurt, Munich In the search for new sources of money, according to financial sources, the Bundesliga is starting the process of selling a share of its national and international media rights. Managers of the German Football League (DFL), which organizes the first and second divisions, want to meet with investors starting Monday who could acquire a minority stake of possibly 20 percent in a sports rights marketing subsidiary that is to be set up again.

In mid-August, the general assembly of the clubs commissioned the DFL to obtain offers. In competition with other leagues, the Bundesliga wants to remain competitive.

The DFL could receive around three billion euros in this way, and the company could be valued at 15 billion, as several people familiar with the matter said. Some even assume a valuation of up to 18 billion euros.
