For the upgrade to start, 70% of Stake Pool Operators (SPO) must update to the new node. Sports and entertainment blockchain solution Chiliz Chain announced the Dragon8 hard fork will take place on Friday, June 17. Chiliz’s Dragon8 hard fork, previously scheduled for May 21, making it one of only two planned hard forks to be completed, has been postponed. The team will set another hard fork date later after the evaluation is completed and the plan is revised.
Solana, on the other hand, requested that validators upgrade to a new stable version to strengthen the Solana blockchain before the mainnet upgrade. The Solana team aims to prevent pressure and congestion on the network due to the meme coin craze and high demand for Solana-based platforms. SOL investors reacted immediately to the announcement. According to a June 10 post on Solana Status, the Solana team is now recommending v1.18.15 for general adoption for the mainnet upgrade. The upgrade was aimed at resolving major congestion issues on the network caused by the launch of Solana-based meme coins.
