Stuttgart, Las Vegas The technology group Bosch wants to expand its business with sensors. This was announced by Bosch Managing Director Tanja Rückert at the leading technology trade fair CES in Las Vegas. “We will invest significantly in this area,” Rückert told the Handelsblatt.

The semiconductor factories in Dresden and Reutlingen are expanded. Bosch plans to invest three billion euros in the semiconductor business and thus also in sensor development and production by 2026 as part of the investment plan. In 2023, Bosch will pay 250 million euros for the expansion of the location in Dresden alone.

In Las Vegas, Rückert presented, among other things, improved, significantly smaller sensors for particle measurements, which can determine air quality everywhere. “In the future, such devices could also be built into smartphones and fitness trackers,” said Rückert. In addition, the digital boss presented an improved anti-lock braking system for e-bikes, which is intended to prevent around a third of all accidents.
