London Seven months after his resignation, opinions are still divided on Boris Johnson in Great Britain. The former prime minister managed both to live up to his reputation as a political troublemaker and to recall his record of sins over the weekend.
Johnson first criticized the deal with which his successor Rishi Sunak had just settled the dispute with the EU over Northern Ireland. The 58-year-old said it would be “very difficult” for him to vote for the so-called “Windsor Framework”. Shortly thereafter, the “Partygate” affair caught up with him after preliminary findings from a parliamentary inquiry suggest the former prime minister may have lied to the House of Commons about his rule-breaking during the pandemic.
