Dusseldorf It could be so easy to charge electric cars: the navigation guides the driver precisely to a charging station. The column automatically recognizes who is behind the wheel and calculates the exact charging time. Billing is done via an app with a transparent price – and the journey continues. For Tesla owners, this is already a reality.

For all other electric car drivers, everyday charging is much more complicated. If you drive long distances, you have to find a free charging station, hope that the charging stations are not defective, and always have a handful of charging cards with you to unlock.

The service provider Digital Charging Solutions (DCS), a spin-off from car manufacturer BMW, wants to combine and simplify all areas of charging, like Tesla. In the “Charge Now” app, e-car drivers can find charging stations, integrate them into their route and bill for the charged electricity. Tesla only offers the automated activation and billing of the charging stations directly via the car. DCS collects a brokerage fee for each load.
