BILD reporter on PC game – my fitness tracker thought I was sleeping – game news

Slowing down is usually a word that I don’t associate with computer games. Instead of pushing a steady ball, for me it’s more about a hail of bullets from all pipes. So I would probably never have had the idea of trying a game called “Village Romance”.

But the first work by four Berlin students has just been awarded the German Computer Game Prize and I wanted to have a good look at the nominees at least once. To be honest: I now regret having spent the 8.99 euros on it. Because I can’t get away from the game.

The aim is to cobble together a pretty landscape that is as large as possible. To do this, you put hexagonal terrain tiles next to each other. The supply is limited – but if you complete tasks (lay a long river, build a small town, etc.) there is a supply. This creates a small world tile by tile – and I want to build it bigger and bigger.

Because of course after every game I have the feeling that I could have done everything a lot better, had I not made this one tiny mistake or had the wrong tile not been on top of the pile at the right moment. And then I click “Again”.

What would frustrate me in other games relaxes me here. I am happy when I create a huge lavender field or cleverly combine forest areas with one another in order to achieve a new best score.

“Dorfromantik” plays with the board game “Carcassonne”. Landscape tiles have to be optimally combined, but the real attraction is not the number of points, but the joy of the small, intact worldPhoto: Toukana Interactive

The data from my fitness tracker show how much the game calms me down and relaxes me. He monitors the pulse, breathing and movement and has recently classified a “village romance” game simply as an afternoon nap.

At the same time, the game trains memory, attention and spatial imagination.

If you haven’t been able to do anything with computer games up to now because they were too hectic or bloody for you – I can only warmly recommend village romance to you. Just don’t snore too loudly while playing.
