Dusseldorf Bayer AG gains access to a mega-project for renewable energies in the USA. The American supplier Cat Creek Energy (CCE) will supply the DAX group with green electricity at its most energy-intensive US location from 2028. It is the largest single renewable energy supply contract signed by a US company to date. This is shown by data from the US Environmental Protection Agency EPA.

The agreement provides for an annual supply volume of 1.4 terawatt hours of electricity from renewable sources. This corresponds to 40 percent of Bayer AG’s total electricity purchases worldwide – and 60 percent of its requirements in the USA, as the company announced. Most of the demand is in the production chain for crop protection products, which is concentrated in the USA.
