There is now a deadline of 2045 for the replacement of oil and gas heating systems.

Berlin Shortly after the coalition committee, the traffic light agreed on details of how the heat transition should be promoted by replacing heating systems.

The plans should now go to the association and state hearings, after which they will be discussed in the Bundestag. The law is expected to be passed by the summer.

The basis for all future regulations is the Building Energy Act (GEG). The heat pump continues to be the standard solution for new builds. Several options remain for the stock. SPD, Greens and FDP have agreed on technology-neutral options and transitional periods.

In special cases, owners should be exempted from the obligation to install climate-friendly heating.
