Bafin takes action against payment service providers

Frankfurt The financial supervisory authority Bafin has identified significant deficiencies in the payment service provider Unzer and is therefore taking tough action against the group. The subsidiary Unzer E-Com GmbH is no longer allowed to do business with new customers until further notice, Bafin announced on Wednesday. CEO Robert Bueninck explained that the company would “completely correct the processes objected to by Bafin and work together with the special representative in a spirit of trust”. The new management team has already initiated significant further developments in the past twelve months and is optimizing the compliance processes with the support of external experts.
