Beijing China’s diplomats gave Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock an unusually friendly welcome. Her Chinese counterpart Qin Gang traveled personally to the port city of Tianjin on the second day of her trip to China to pick up Baerbock from the first stop of her stay. He took a total of six hours for the Green politician.
But at the subsequent press conference, which lasted almost an hour, Baerbock showed that she was not impressed by the Chinese charm offensive, at least for the time being.
She used her speaking time to primarily address critical points with China. This was followed by an exchange of blows between the ministers, in which the differences between Germany and China became very clear.
