Avalanche Bridge Adds Support for Shiba Inu (SHIB)!

Popular cryptocurrency Shiba Inu (SHIB) can now be transferred between Ethereum and Avalanche.

Avalanche Bridge, which Ava Labs launched in July, now supports the meme cryptocurrency Shiba Inu.

The tool allows to seamlessly migrate Ethereum tokens to the Avalanche mainnet.

“Avalanche Bridge (AB) adds new tokens that can be transferred between Avalanche and Ethereum.

First, SHIB is coming!”

Users will also be able to use the bridge to transfer wrapped versions of Bitcoin (BTC) and Ethereum (ETH).

Avalanche’s native token AVAX surpassed the Shiba Inu in market cap in late November during a record-breaking rally. The two cryptocurrencies are fighting strong at 12th and 13th positions respectively.

At the time of writing, Avalanche (AVAX) is trading at $91.23, while Shiba Inu (SHIB) is at $0.000036.

Ava Labs CEO Emin Gün Sirer recently described Shiba Inu as a “zero-sum game,” adding that this year’s top-performing cryptocurrency didn’t appeal to him.

“SHIB is a memecoin. Therefore, it’s a pure momentum game – it’s useless, so it’s a zero-sum game. Exactly half of the community makes money (in dollars) while the other half loses. Not for me.”
