Automobile and light commercial vehicle market decreased by 11.6 percent in September
Automotive Distributors and Mobility Association (ODMD) made a new post showing automobile export and import data for January and September 2024. According to the post, automobile sales increased by 0.9 percent in the first 9 months of this year compared to the same period last year, reaching 673 thousand 73 units.
However, the light commercial vehicle market decreased by 8.4 percent compared to last year in the same period and saw the number of 174 thousand 619 units. When we look only at September, the automobile and light commercial vehicle market suffered a decrease of 11.6 percent in September.
With this decrease, 85 thousand 540 cars were sold in September. In September, the automobile market saw a decrease of 14.61 percent and reached 67 thousand 434 units. On the other hand, the light commercial vehicle market increased by 1.6 percent to 18 thousand 106.
Renault Clio was the best-selling vehicle in September
When we look at the automobile brands sold in September, we see Renault Clio as the leader. The car sold 4,026. Fiat Egea Sedan took the second place with a value of 3066 units. In the third row, we see a Renault model again. Renault Megane sold 2646 units in September.
