Munich Dangerous airbags, defective brake lights, defective gearboxes: due to such safety deficiencies, millions of vehicles have had to be ordered into workshops around the world in recent years. In addition to such well-known problems in the auto industry, recalls due to software deficiencies have recently increased.
The sports car manufacturer Porsche had to recall almost 43,000 examples of its electric speedster Taycan in the summer. The electric motor of the series could sporadically fail due to a programming error. A good 16,300 units of the iX3 electric SUV from BMW also recently required a software update. Otherwise the electrical system could have been damaged after an accident. And Toyota had to revise almost 145,000 Yaris-type small hybrid cars because of defective software in the brake actuator.
