As an entrepreneur, can you also be an activist?

Dusseldorf When changing to a sustainable economy, many entrepreneurs feel in a bind: On the one hand, transformation processes such as decarbonization reduce profit. On the other hand, there is growing pressure on companies to participate in social issues such as climate protection.

But more and more managers are accepting the challenge. One of them is Mario Dönnebrink, CEO of the North Rhine-Westphalian software manufacturer Dvelop. Dönnebrink has had an eventful life so far: As a young man, for example, he was a protester for the anti-nuclear movement.

Today he sees things differently than he did then, he explains in this episode of Handelsblatt Green. Dönnebrink also talks about the extent to which an entrepreneur can also be an activist – and where he has to make compromises today that he might have rejected earlier.
