With the President’s decision published in the Official Gazette published today, it was decided to establish a “Data Science and Artificial Intelligence Institute” at Boğaziçi University. The institute will be affiliated to the university rector.
Boğaziçi University, one of the leading universities in Turkey, hosts thousands of students with its 35 undergraduate, 67 graduate and 33 doctoral programs within its 6 faculties, 2 colleges and 6 institutes. The university, which managed to enter the world lists with its success, was published last night. By the decision of the Official Gazette will get a new chapter.
With the President’s decision published in the Official Gazette, the university was affiliated to the Boğaziçi University Rectorate. It was decided to establish the Data Science and Artificial Intelligence Institute. The decision numbered 5028 regarding Boğaziçi University was published in the Official Gazette as follows:
The President’s decision regarding Boğaziçi University Data Science and Artificial Intelligence Institute is as follows:
“It was decided to establish the Data Science and Artificial Intelligence Institute under the Rectorate of Boğaziçi University in accordance with the additional article 30 of the Law on the Organization of Higher Education Institutions No. 2809.”
Boğaziçi University was on the agenda throughout 2021 due to different events than education. While Melih Bulu was appointed as the university rector by the President’s Decision, students and academic staff opposed this. After the reactions, Melih Bulu was dismissed and replaced by Melih Bulu’s assistant. prof. Dr. Naci Pearl appointed.
