Apple recalls some iPhone 12s: 1 more year!

Some iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pros manufactured between October 2020 and April 2021 are experiencing a sound issue due to a malfunction of a component in the receiver module. For this problem, which covers a small portion of the manufactured devices, Apple launched a free repair program in August last year.

When Apple launched this repair program, it stated that devices would be accepted for 2 years after retail sale. With the update made today, 1 more year has been added, thus increasing the total duration to 3 years.

1 more year given for iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro sound problem

If you’re using an iPhone 12 or iPhone 12 Pro, if the receiver doesn’t make a sound when making or receiving a call, your device will likely be repaired free of charge by Apple.

If you live in Istanbul, you can take your device to the Apple Store by making an appointment, or if you live in a different city, you can deliver it to one of the Apple Authorized Service Providers in your area.

iPhone 12 mini and iPhone 12 Pro Max models are excluded from this program. Although some users are reacting to this situation, the reason why the smallest and largest iPhone 12 is not included in the program is that the components that cause the malfunction are not used in these devices.
