Dusseldorf The Model Y has been rolling off the assembly line in Grünheide near Berlin for some time. Now the brand has its own beer brewed in Germany, which is sold under the brand name Gigabier. On its German website, Tesla has been offering the “limited-edition Pilsener-style beer,” which is said to be brewed with “exclusive cyber hops,” for sale since Thursday evening.

What sounds like an early April Fool’s joke was prepared for a long time. Musk had already announced the beer in 2021 at the Gigafest in Grünheide before the official opening of the plant and secured the corresponding trademark rights.

According to the company, the web shop is operated by a company called Cyberhops, but there is no further information about it. For the beer, Tesla is working with Dutch craft beer experts Brouw Unie.

Tesla tequila, shorts and a flamethrower

According to Tesla, the packaging is intended to “build a bridge between Cybertruck and the 500-year tradition of beer brewing according to the German Purity Law”. Because of course the Gigabier is not delivered in normal bottles, but in glossy black, sculptural bottles that are printed with a glowing Giga watermark.

And the price of the Tesla beer is also out of the ordinary. The electric pioneer demands 89 euros for three bottles, each with 330 milliliters. The calculation: collectors should be willing to pay this price.

However, it would not be the first bizarre fan article from Tesla boss Elon Musk’s corporate empire. Tesla tequila, a whistle in the design of the gigatruck or shorts (as a reminder of short sellers) were sold out within a very short time. Musk even had a flamethrower produced for his tunneling company Boring Company. He was sold as “Not-a-flamethrower”, allegedly to facilitate export.
