Apas is investigating the Adler case

Dusseldorf After the investigations against EY in the Wirecard case, the next auditor is now in need of explanation: Ebner Stolz, auditor of the company Adler Real Estate, which belongs to the badly hit real estate group. According to information from the Handelsblatt, the responsible auditor supervisory body, Apas for short, has found concrete evidence that Ebner Stolz could have violated obligations in his work for the real estate company.

Apas has therefore initiated professional supervision proceedings against one or more examiners. This involves possible violations of statutory auditor obligations.

The most important duties include conscientiousness and maintaining a critical attitude towards the client – i.e. critically questioning the information he has provided and, according to the examiner’s regulations, paying attention to “circumstances that could indicate misrepresentation”. Previous personal proceedings by the Apas against individuals were in most cases based on suspected violations of these duties.
