Annual outlook: investing money successfully in 2022

Seldom have reports of success been so close to bad news in a financial year as they did in 2021: While indices such as Dax, Nasdaq and Co. set records, delivery bottlenecks, chip shortages and raw material shortages weighed on companies and consumers, which were already plagued by corona and inflation. But which of these will remain relevant in the new year 2022? How will the world economy and especially the European financial markets develop? Ulrich Kater, DekaBank’s chief economist, gives a forecast. In the interview, he explains, among other things, why he considers the ECB’s waiting period to be dangerous with regard to interest rates, and the importance he attaches to China and other emerging countries in the next twelve months.
