Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office Seized 30 Million Dollars of Cryptocurrency!

In the illegal betting operation launched in Ankara on October 20, simultaneous raids were carried out in 8 provinces and 46 people were detained.

A new development took place in the investigation carried out by the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office.

Halil F, who died as a result of an armed attack in the TRNC Cryptocurrency worth $30 million was confiscated.

It was determined that the suspects used crypto money to hide their income from illegal betting, and some of these incomes were sent to the crypto money wallets and stock exchange accounts of people including Halil F and his wife.

Deepening the investigation, the prosecutor’s office determined that the money was transferred to an account opened in a crypto money exchange in Malta on behalf of Halil F, and the account containing 30 million dollars of crypto money was frozen.

It was also found that the suspects transferred the funds to the wallet 3 different times every 20 seconds to make it difficult to trace the funds.

Speaking after the operation on 20 October, Süleyman Soylu said, “This operation came out of Cyprus, this operation came out of the murder of Halil F. A transfer of approximately 2.5 billion liras of money was seen. “Right now, about $40 million has been confiscated, but this is just the beginning,” he said.

On October 20, after it was determined that the suspects transferred their assets obtained from crime to domestic and foreign crypto exchanges, 666 crypto exchanges were found by the decision of the Criminal Court of Peace. bitcoin and $14 million worth of USDT ($40 million in total) were seized.
