As of today, Apple has started sending the new update to all AirPods and Beats models with security vulnerabilities. Regarding this issue, the brand said in a statement on its official website: “This new firmware update resolves a Bluetooth vulnerability that could allow an attacker to access your AirPods or Beats.” He included a statement like:

The company also gave details about the update, including some bug fixes and improvements. However, the important issue about this update was the “Bluetooth-related security vulnerability”, as we mentioned again.
This vulnerability means that while you are trying to connect your headset to one of the devices you have paired it with, a foreign device can imitate the paired device and connect to your phone, tablet, computer, etc. causing it to leak into your devices. This problem disappeared with the update.

- Go to “Bluetooth” menu
- Find your AirPods in the devices list
- Tap the “i” next to them
