Turkey is accelerating its initiatives in the field of space. An important agreement was announced today for the first Turkish astronaut to go into space. Within the scope of the National Space Program, an agreement was reached with the Axiom Space company for the Turkish space traveler to go to the space station.

The agreement was reached at the 73rd International Astronautical Congress held in Paris. Turkish Space Agency also took part in the Congress, in which 6 institutions from Turkey participated. The agreement was signed by the head of the agency. Serdar Huseyin Yildirim announced.
The first astronaut to go to the International Space Station is currently unknown. Axiom Space company will meet the training and flight services of the Turkish space traveller. The astronaut selections continue for the flight that will take place in the 100th anniversary of the Republic.
