AMD announces $1.9 billion acquisition of Pensando!

AMD announced that it has initiated a $1.9 billion acquisition by the second half of this year of its cloud startup, known as Pensando, to support its data center products and capitalize on growing demand from the cloud and enterprise industries.


The release date of the new generation AMD graphics cards has been announced!

The release date of AMD RX 6950 XT, RX 6750 XT and RX 6650 XT graphics cards has been announced. The company will launch the devices with a 1-month delay.

AMD will take its EPYC data center processors to the next level thanks to Pensando!

AMD president and CEO Dr. During the press release, Lisa Su conveyed the impact the Pensando acquisition will have on the existing chip portfolio, saying:

Today, with our acquisition of Pensando, we are adding a leading distributed services platform to our portfolio of high-performance CPUs, GPUs, FPGAs and adaptive SoCs. The Pensando team brings world-class expertise and proven innovation at the chip, software and platform level that expands our ability to deliver leadership solutions for our cloud, enterprise and other customers.

Pensando’s existing services are currently used by enterprise companies such as Goldman Sachs, IBM Cloud, Microsoft Azure and Oracle Cloud. However, AMD aims to attract all these partnerships with this acquisition. In this way, it will be able to offer its new services to wider audiences by expanding its existing business network.
