new York According to a newspaper report, the online giant Amazon is planning greater job cuts in the USA than initially assumed. The Wall Street Journal reported on Wednesday that more than 17,000 workers are to be laid off, which is 7,000 more than originally expected.
The US company began laying off employees in Amazon’s equipment and services divisions in November. At the time, an insider spoke to Reuters of the planned 10,000 job cuts. Amazon did not immediately respond to a request from Reuters for comment. Rising inflation and the looming recession are affecting the entire tech industry.
