Amazon, the provider of its rival Prime Video service, is taking new steps to not be left behind.
Amazon is working on a special app that will only feature sports content, according to The Information, an important word from inside the company. So much so that the CEO of the technology giant, Andy Jassy, announced in the past months that new steps will be taken for the services the company offers to users.
Amazon is switching to TikTok style design!
Amazon is transitioning to a TikTok-like shopping experience with its new feature. It is now possible to shop from photos and videos.
One of the steps Amazon took in terms of sports was to sign an 11-year broadcast rights agreement with the American Football League NFL. In addition, the company has signed an agreement to broadcast some games of the US National Baseball League and the American Women’s Basketball League.
With this move, Amazon can bring sports-related content from the Prime Video service to this application. In addition, the Company can charge this service independently of Prime Video, thereby creating a new revenue stream.
There has been no official statement from Amazon about the new sports content application yet. Therefore, the date when it will be available to users is also uncertain.
