Alumni donate millions for new building “Square”

Frankfurt, St Gallen The Rosenberg from St. Gallen has long enjoyed a legendary reputation in the management floors of German business. On the hill of the Swiss city, from which you can marvel at the 2500 meter high Säntis, is the University of St. Gallen (HSG), the training ground for entire generations of managers. Nowhere else have so many (German) top careers started as here.

But the reputation suffered in the end. In the important business school ranking of the “Financial Times”, the HSG is only seventh in Europe. And scandals such as questionable part-time jobs by teachers, false expense reports from university employees and an honorary professor in custody (ex-Audi boss Rupert Stadler) did the rest.

The scratched image urgently needs new shine. The spiritus rector of change is none other than Paul Achleitner. The Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Deutsche Bank once studied at the HSG himself. He has been associated with his alma mater for years as a donor and as President of the Board of Trustees.
