The AirPods Pro 2 model, introduced last year, was criticized for the Lightning input in the charging case. According to the leaked information, Apple will include the Type-C input in the new AirPods Pro 2 models.
New AirPods Pro 2 models will have Type-C input
Apple recently released the iOS 16.4 developer beta, which includes a reference to new AirPods with model code A3048 and a new AirPods case with model name A2968. According to renowned analyst Ming Chi-Kuo, a Type-C version of AirPods Pro 2 with Lightning port will be available last year.
Kuo did not reveal anything else about the new AirPods Pro 2. It is unclear whether the AirPods Pro 2 will come with a charging case containing Type-C or if there will be other hardware changes.
Apple is expected to launch the iPhone 15 series this year with a USB-C port instead of a Lightning port. Kuo stated that Apple currently has no plans for Type-C versions of AirPods 2 and 3. It is stated that the new model will be released in the second quarter or third quarter of 2023.
Apple states that the AirPods Pro 2 model allows deeper bass and clearer treble to be heard at any volume level, thanks to the specially developed driver and amplifier. According to Apple’s claim, AirPods Pro 2 has twice the noise cancellation feature compared to the previous model thanks to the H2 chip.
