The negotiations for the Postbank were conducted separately from the collective bargaining for 140,000 employees of private banks in Germany, because the institute traditionally has in-house collective agreements. Separate collective bargaining has also been going on for the state and development banks since last summer. The collective bargaining talks for Postbank began on January 10th.
