Düsseldorf – Dramatic scenes on Friday evening! Firefighters and rescue workers fight with all their might for the life of one man (40). He had recently been hit by a tram and was critically injured.
Bad tram accident in the city of Düsseldorf!
At 6:39 p.m., the pedestrian on Graf-Adolf-Straße ran in front of the tram heading for the main train station, for reasons that had not yet been clarified. It caught the man, he was trapped under the front part, but luckily he was probably not rolled over by the wheels.
An emergency doctor and paramedics immediately initiated medical care for the victim. To recover it, the rescue workers used air bags and hydraulic lifting devices. Parts of the cladding in the front area also had to be removed for this.
Only then did the rescuers manage to pull the man out from under the train. He was immediately taken to the hospital.
None of the railway passengers were affected by the accident. The driver suffered a shock and was looked after by emergency chaplains and paramedics.
The fire brigade was on duty with around 35 men for around two hours. The police began investigating the course of the accident.
