A New Island Discovered in the Pacific Ocean

A new island was born due to the eruption of the Home Reef volcano in the Tonga Islands, located in the Pacific Ocean. According to NASA, the eruption of lava and ash that began on Sept. 11 hours later this island became visible to the naked eye.

Tonga Geological Services is located approximately above sea level on the island. 10 meters high and 4,000 m2 wide states that it is. The width of the island 6 days after the event took place 24,000 m2 reached size.
