Work is half life, as the saying goes. This is actually true for full-time employees in Germany, at least on five out of seven days of the week. After all, they spend an average of around 41 hours in their job during the week, as determined by the Federal Statistical Office. Minus bedtime, that’s pretty much exactly half of the available hours – and that’s usually for more than 40 years until retirement. It is therefore important to do a job that suits your strengths and that you enjoy.
