Berlin The traffic light coalition has cleared up a number of its controversial issues. SPD leader Lars Klingbeil, Greens leader Ricarda Lang and FDP leader Christian Lindner emphasized on Tuesday evening after a total of 30 hours of deliberations by the coalition committee that a great deal had been made.
The tone had been “pretty rough” in recent weeks, Lang said. Lindner spoke of “intensive consultations” and a “good conclusion”. Federal Chancellor Olaf Scholz (SPD) wrote on Twitter: “After many hours of intensive discussions, I can say: It was worth it.” The most important results at a glance:
Results of the coalition committee: climate protection law
The coalition partners agreed to reform the climate protection law. The Liberals in particular have been criticizing the current regulation for a long time. Lindner chalked up the reform that had been passed as a success for his party. The current provisions of the law are “very bureaucratic,” he said. The provisions will now be “changed conceptually”.
