On the eve of the anniversary of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, Russian forces are intensifying their front-line offensives. There is fierce fighting in eastern Kharkiv and western Luhansk in particular, but the town of Bakhmut is also the scene of Russian attacks.
Dmitro Krasilnikov, brigadier general and deputy commander of the Operational Command “North” of the Ukrainian ground forces, is currently fighting with his unit on particularly explosive front sections – in Luhansk and Svitlodarsk in Donetsk. The Tagesspiegel spoke to Krasilnikov about the fighting and the state of the Ukrainian and Russian armies.
