New employees are increasingly ghosting their new employer despite a firm commitment.

Dusseldorf Submit your application and then hear nothing for weeks or months? Many people who are looking for a job are familiar with the phenomenon of ghosting. Obviously the problem is not one-sided.
More than half of the personnel managers in German companies say that in the past twelve months there has been an increase in contact breaks without comment – on the candidate side. The job exchange Indeed and the market researcher Appinio surveyed a total of 400 recruiters in Germany for this number. The Handelsblatt was able to view the evaluation in advance.
Accordingly, the vast majority of HR managers surveyed (90 percent) have already experienced ghosting from applicants. A quarter of HR managers have this experience at least once a week (26 percent), and around one in twelve even loses contact with a job seeker every day (eight percent).
