Siemens Energy reviews outlook – problems at Siemens Gamesa

Munich Siemens Energy is still not getting the problems at its wind power subsidiary Siemens Gamesa under control. The energy technology group has to put its annual forecast to the test, mainly because of poor figures in the renewable energy business.

The uncertainty about the further course of business is also due to the unforeseeable consequences of the war in Ukraine. But above all, Siemens Gamesa is once again causing disappointment. On Tuesday evening, the listed wind power group reported an operating loss before special items of EUR 304 million for the second quarter of 2021/22 (September 30). “That’s even worse than expected and another disappointment,” it said in corporate circles.

On the stock exchange, the Siemens Energy share collapsed by more than five percent to 18.50 euros on Thursday. The Siemens Gamesa papers fell by two percent to 15 euros.
